National Directors set policies and priorities, but it is our State Directors
who then must implement them. That's why we've recruited dedicated and committed
volunteer stillbirth parents for these responsible positions.
Much of the legislation affecting the future of stillbirth in America will pass
through state legislatures, not Congress. And elected members of these
legislatures are not moved by appeals from national organizations, because we
don't vote in their state. That's why "grass roots" organizing efforts are so
essential to the success of our Stillbirth Society. That's why we need State
Directors who can coordinate the efforts of volunteers like you within their
states, and serve as the source and "clearing house" for local stillbirth
information.
The following page is a state-by-state directory of our "Grass Roots Organizing
Effort".
If your state name appears in red it means
your state already issues a Certificate of Stillbirth.
If a name appears above your state name, that person is the Director for your
state, and a link to more information.
If you're state doesn't display a person's name, please consider taking on the
task. If you're a capable communicator, passionate about saving stillborn
babies, and have time available, we need you. Send us an e-mail with your
background and stillbirth experience and a way to reach you by phone. We know of
no better way for a parent to "heal" than to become a part of a movement to
prevent future stillbirths.
